This kit was probably derived from the 1934 Ford Sedan that AMT also released in 1987. After having built the 1934 I picked up this kit at a model car sale for about $15. Although the bodies and fenders on the two kits are virtually identical, that is where the similarity ends. The 1933 features a modern independent suspension coupled with a small block Chevy as its power plant with a modern interior featuring bucket seats, as opposed to the 1934 which features the cars original interior, a flat head V8 power pant, and the cars original suspension.
I painted the body in Testors Dusty Rose Pearl, and the Fenders in Testors Black Cherry pearl, and finally cleared the whole set of parts with Testors Wet Look. All of the painting was done with a badger single action airbrush after the paints were decanted for use with the airbrush.
This is the first time I attempted to detail the white letter on the tires. I used a white acrylic "Jelly Roll" pen size 05. It actually worked quite nicely if you use a light touch and keep the ink flowing. If you make a mistake, you can rub it off and re-do it. After the ink dries completely, it will be able to stand being touched every now and then, but I would avoid it when picking up and handling the model.
I panted the interior in Tamiya White Pearl which came out in a semi-flat finished which worked perfect for the interior. I used a Moltow chrome pen to do the details like the speaker trim, window crank handles, and the spokes on the steering wheel.
