I really like those old Monogram kits because even though they lack details, a simple clean build can be so appealing! Although the old Monogram and Revell kits are probably the best examples of some of the early plastic models, some of the Lindberg kits from that era look pretty good as well. Was checking out both builds of the Indy style racer that you and Tom had built and I really like them! Some of the kits I am considering are the Monogram Green Hornet, Black Widow or the Lindberg 1/32 1925 Street Rod; which is still reasonable. If I ever manage to get around to building one, I would like to build it the way it was intended back in the day.

I think I have about four of these "Green Hornet" kits..three sealed, one opened but the bag is still sealed. This is one of a handful of kits I never built.
I bought this one from the King for $4. too good to pass up... I put theses in a safe spot...cant find any of them Hosted on Fotki

I like the direction this thread is heading...right up my alley so to speak. You guys make me feel guilty for not paying attention to my Monogram oldie builds that are languishing. I have to get my butt in gear and finish something already !!!

Always enjoyed Monogram kits and these reissued kits offer the chance to build them again without as much old Testor's 10 cent glue.

I think I am definitely going to pick up the Lindberg re-pop of the Pyro "Yankee Doodle"; which is a 1/32 T bucket roadster and probably just do a clean build like it was meant to be back in the day. Shouldn't take very long to build because I won't be trying to fuss with the details.
