As you can see from the box art, the Boot Hill Express designed by Ray Fahrner was actually a real full size rod that was built for shows. In 1967 the car was voted the number 1 show rod in the country. A total of three cars were built, and believe it or not one of them actually hit over 120 MPH on the dragstrip.
Also, here is the video of the Boot Hill Express racing Dragula! Not exactly the best resolution but still interesting to watch.
Ok, some more information about the Boot Hill Express. The first car built did not actually run, but the second and third builds did. From what I understand, instead of tearing apart the old one to make it functional, the 2nd and 3rd cars were built. The second Boot Hill Express built was designed to go down the strip, and this may be the reason it looks a bit different from the rest of the pictures i have managed to find on the internet. I am not sure if the car in the video is Boot Hill number 2 or a clone, but the fact that it looks different makes sense.
Below is a link to the Speedway Motors Museum of American Speed that has all the history of the car.

Thanks Pete! This is one of my older builds. Looks like Chuck did the model after the Boot Express got its makeover. Nice color!

I read PB's reply and I checked the photos and noticed they were hosted by Google pictures; which I had some intermittent problems with and later on switched to postimage.org. I moved the pictures to postimage.org, so everyone should be able to see them now.
